Bendungan Karangtalun (Karangtalun Dam) is a complex, located in Magelang Regency, Central Java, that functions to take water from the Progo River and distribute it to irrigation areas covering an area of more than 5,000 hectares in Bantul Regency and Sleman Regency.
This dam was built in 1963 with a fixed weir type that forms the letter V in the middle. This dam has four sluice gates that can be operated to regulate the flow of water entering the primary irrigation channel.
Primary irrigation channels consist of the Karangtalun Main Canal, Mataram Canal, and Van Der Wijck Canal, each of which has a length of around 3 km, 31 km, and 17 km.
