Buk Renteng Van der Wijck

Buk Renteng Van der Wijck is a large irrigation system located in Tempel, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta.

This irrigation system consists of many sluice gates, dams and channels that channel water to agricultural land. This irrigation system was built in 1929 by a Dutchman named Van Der Wijck, who also served as head of the irrigation department in Yogyakarta. This irrigation system has an important role in increasing the productivity and welfare of farmers in the area. The total length of the system is approximately 17 km and contains numerous locks and dams.

Buk Renteng Van der Wijck is fed by major irrigation system of Bendungan Karangtalun.
