Bekas Stasiun Winongo is one of those small railway survivors tucked away in Glondong, Bantul, Yogyakarta.
The station’s simple architecture has changed over time, particularly due to earthquake damage and subsequent renovations. However, the core of the building remains intact, offering a rare opportunity to see an authentic piece of Bantul’s old railway network.
Winongo may not have been a major station, but as a surviving heritage building, it’s one of the most valuable pieces of the old line, a quiet reminder of Yogyakarta’s railway past that managed to hold on.
Stasiun Winongo was once part of the historic Yogyakarta-Srandakan-Sewugalur railway line.
