Jembatan Kereta Api Mbeling (Mbeling Railway Bridge) is a bridge that stretches over the Progo River and connects the Bandung-Yogyakarta railway line.
This bridge is located on the border between Sentolo, Kulon Progo Regency and Bantul Regency. This bridge was built in 1887 and replaced with a new bridge in 1933. This new bridge uses a half-arch construction system made of steel known as Bijlaard Bent, after its designer, Paulus Peter Bijlaard. The railway infrastructure underwent a significant upgrade in the early 2000s, with the addition of a second track and a new bridge. This improved the capacity and efficiency of the rail transport, as previously there was only one track available for both directions.
The new bridge also enhanced the safety and reliability of the railway system.
