Taman Nasional Gunung Merapi, located in Kaliurang, Sleman Regency, on the slopes of Gunung Merapi, is the perfect place for a day out with familiy and friends.
Enjoy the park’s beautiful layout, featuring various walking paths, and take a look at the waterfall. It is even possible to see Mount Merapi, though this requires a strenuous hike along a fairly steep trail. There is an observation tower at the end of the path; in clear weather, it offers a magnificent view of Mount Merapi.
You might encounter monkeys in some parts of the park. Do not feed them and keep an eye on your belongings.
