Monumen Brimob Argomulyo in Bantul Regency honors the heroic sacrifice of 18 Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officers and 102 civilians who died fighting Dutch forces on March 18, 1949.
Following the March 1st General Offensive, Dutch troops launched retaliatory sweeps, leading to a fierce clash on Doro hill. Opened in 1970 by Police Chief General Hoegeng, the monument’s design symbolizes Indonesian independence, featuring a 17-meter base, 8 entry steps, and a ‘Peta 45’ relief map to represent August 17, 1945.
Located near the Rewulu station, this historic site stands as a poignant reminder of local resilience and the heavy price paid for freedom during the Indonesian National Revolution.
