Bekas Jembatan Rel Kereta Winongo is tucked away in the quiet village area of Glondong, Kasihan, Bantul.
This site holds the remnants of an old Dutch colonial railway bridge. Built in 1895 by the Nederlandsch-Indische Spoorweg Maatschappij (NISM), it served as a vital lifeline for Yogyakarta’s booming sugar industry, hauling sweet cargo from local mills straight to the city. The trains stopped rolling around the 1970s and the old iron tracks themselves are mostly gone.
Today, it still serves as a bridge and is accessible only to pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcycles.
