Muara Bogowonto (Muara Bogowonto Wave Breaker) is one of the new infrastructure projects aimed at protecting the bay from abrasion and flooding, located in the Kulon Progo Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta.
This project involves the construction of a 1.2 kilometer long concrete wall along the mouth of the Bogowonto river, which is one of the largest rivers in Central Java. It is hoped that this wave breaker can reduce the impact of sea waves that erode beaches and threaten residential areas. Apart from that, this project also aims to improve the quality of the environment and the economy of the surrounding community.
