Benteng Fort de Kock is one of Bukittinggi’s most iconic historical landmarks.
Built by the Dutch in 1825 on a hill overlooking the city, the fort played an important role during the Padri War and later became part of the foundation of modern Bukittinggi. Today, visitors can enjoy beautiful panoramic views, see historic cannons, stroll through the park, and cross the famous Limpapeh Bridge connecting the fort to the Kinantan Wildlife and Cultural Park.
