Toegoe Patjak Soedji, also known as Monumen Jumenengan Sultan HB IX 1940, is a historic landmark tucked away in Kotagede, Yogyakarta.
Built in 1940, this small obelisk was erected by the locals to celebrate the coronation of Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX, standing as a beautiful symbol of community loyalty to the palace. It features the royal emblem on top and sits near the bustling Pasar Legi market. Though completely destroyed by the 2006 earthquake, it was later lovingly rebuilt to its exact original design.
Today, it remains a charming piece of history and a must-see stop for anyone exploring the heritage-rich alleys of Kotagede.
