Bunker Kaliadem is a historical site located in Hargobinangun Village, Sleman Regency.
It is one of those places where Mount Merapi feels incredibly close. The old bunker sits quietly on the slope, a reminder of past eruptions, while visitors wander around the black sand and lava rocks that shape the landscape today. The air is cool, the view is wide open, and Merapi stands right there in front of you, powerful, unpredictable, and strangely beautiful.
Just a short walk away, Jalur Lahar Point Kaliadem gives you another angle on the mountain. This is where you can see the path carved by lahar flows, a raw corridor of volcanic material that shows exactly how strong Merapi can be. It’s dramatic, a bit wild, and perfect for photos or just taking in the scale of the volcano’s history.
