Mercusuar Karangwuni, located just east of Glagah Beach, Kulon Progo, offers a truly raw coastal experience.
The access roads are a bumpy mix of sand and stones, making it quite hard to reach. Once you arrive, you’ll find that this active maritime tower has definitely seen better days. With broken windows, an open door stuck in place, and debris from a broken railing and glass of broken windows scattered around, it feels a bit abandoned.
But if you dare to make the climb, the reward is absolutely worth it. The view from the top of the tower is magnificent, offering a breathtaking look at the coastline. It is a fascinating, rugged spot for photographers.
