Jembatan Sudu is a modern and vital engineering lifeline spanning the Progo River along the key Sentolo-Nanggulan route in Wijimulyo, Kulon Progo.
Designed to withstand the region’s heavy traffic and intense seasonal river currents, this contemporary concrete structure ensures the safe, daily flow of commuters, agricultural goods, and local commerce. While this new crossing represents progress, it also shares its location with local history: Jembatan Sudu Lama. Standing right next to the modern deck are two massive, silent stone pillars rising from the water. These nearby remnants belong to the original colonial crossing, offering travelers a direct visual link to the perilous journeys of the past.
