Tugu Tetenger Telah Gugurnya Pejuang Perang Kemerdekaan in Rewulu, Bantul Regency, is a somber historical marker honoring Pramono Atmopawiro, the village chief of Kemusuk and stepfather of future President Soeharto.
On January 7, 1949, during Dutch retaliatory sweeps following the March 1 General Offensive, Dutch troops executed him on this exact spot for refusing to reveal the whereabouts of Indonesian guerrilla fighters. The plaque beneath his name lists his five children, including prominent businessman Probosutedjo, who erected the monument to honor their father’s sacrifice.
The nearby elevated Somenggalan Cemetery serves as the final resting place for the area’s fallen heroes.
