Jembatan Gantung Krogowanan

Krogowanan Suspension Bridge

Jembatan Gantung Krogowanan (also known as the Tlatar Suspension Bridge), is spanning 90 meters over the Pabelan River and connects the Sawangan and Dukun districts, in Magelang Regency, Central Java.

But it’s more than just a shortcut for locals, it’s a symbol of resilience. Built in 2012, it replaced the original bridge that was completely washed away by Mount Merapi’s intense cold lava flows back in 2011. Today, it’s a bustling little crossing strictly for pedestrians, bicycles, and motorcycles.

Because it’s narrow, riders have to take turns crossing, making it a unique, slow-paced spot to catch some scenic views of the river and the surrounding lush greenery.

Facilities: Free entrance, Parking (free)
