Bantul Regency

Bantul Regency is a district located in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This district has an area of 506.85 km2 and a population of around 1 million people in 2022. The capital of this district is Bantul, a city located about 10 km from Yogyakarta. Bantul Province is known as the City of Pottery, City of Geplak, and City of Sate Klathak because it has many craft and culinary centers. This district also has many natural and cultural tourist attractions, such as Parangtritis Beach, Mangunan Pine Forest, Pulosari Waterfall, Pengger Pine Forest, Taqwa Wonokromo Mosque, Paseban Square, Kasongan, and others. In 2006, Bantul Province experienced an earthquake which resulted in severe damage and many fatalities.
