Candi Pawon (Pawon Temple) is a Buddhist temple located in Magelang Regency, Central Java. This temple was built in the 9th century, during the reign of the Sailendra dynasty. Pawon Temple has simple but harmonious architecture, with carvings of boddhisatwa, tara, kalpataru, and kinnara-kinnari on the outer walls of the temple. Inside the temple there is an empty space with a square basin in the middle. Above the temple there are five small stupas and four small pearls. Candi Pawon, Candi Borobudur and Candi Mendut are three Buddhist temples, connected by a symbolic straight line and only a few kilometers apart. Together they form a Buddhist temple complex.
