Kulon Progo Regency

Kulon Progo Regency is a regency in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. It is located on the western part of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, and it is bordered by the Progo River on the east. The capital of the regency is Wates, which is also the largest city in the area. Kulon Progo Regency has a rich history and culture, as well as many natural attractions. Some of the popular tourist destinations in Kulon Progo Regency are Kalibiru, a scenic spot with a view of Menoreh Hills and Sermo Reservoir; Glagah Beach, a black sand beach with a mangrove forest; Kedung Pedut Waterfall, a beautiful cascade with turquoise water; and Suroloyo Peak, the highest point in Menoreh Hills that offers a panoramic view of four mountains. Kulon Progo Regency is also famous for its batik fabric called Sekar Niti, which is produced by many home industries in the villages.
